The Gospel according to the apostle John focuses on the deity of Christ beginning with his existence in the beginning of time, identified as the word that became flesh. John records the miracles of the Jesus the Christ but most importantly the claims of equality with the Father. Throughout the Gospel Jesus is revealed in words and deeds that reveal his deity but not as a tyrant or to lord over mankind but as a humble servant, demonstrated when he washed the disciple’s feet and his sacrifice on the cross.
